Trump’s Truth Social ranks first on the App Store.

Following Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, downloads of Truth Social have skyrocketed in the United States, propelling it to the top of the App Store.

The app was rated number 52 on Sunday, while Twitter was ranked number 39, according to Mobile Insights Strategist Stephanie Chan of SensorTower. The app was released by former US President Donald Trump after he was permanently banned from Twitter for inciting the January 6, 2021 uprising.

When the app launched in February of this year, customers complained about lengthy waitlists, which were eliminated on Friday when the site was migrated to Rumble, a new cloud provider. According to Fast Company, the rise in downloads might be due to the former president’s words in conjunction with Musk’s expressed desire to acquire Twitter.

Trump told Americano Media, “Twitter has gotten really monotonous. They have eliminated a great deal of their conservative voices on Twitter. Trump told Fox Announcement that he would not return to Twitter even if Musk reversed the restriction and invited him back following the news of the Twitter takeover. Stephenie Chan estimates that since its release, the app has been downloaded 1.4 million times.
